The Fromeside Benefice of ChurchesWe are a group of five parishes working together for the Kingdom of God in the beautiful area between the M4 and Yate. Our outlook is that of a strong family unit made up of four parts each with their own style of worship, but working to support each other and the Benefice as a whole. The Benefice formed in July 2016 from the four parishes of All Saints’ Winterbourne Down, St Michael’s Winterbourne, St James the Less Iron Acton and St Peter’s Frampton Cotterell and joined in February 2023 by St Saviour's, Coalpit Heath We are planning for the future with renewed enthusiasm. We work together on common initiatives, including on Administration, Baptism and Marriage policies, and pastoral care. Our shared vision and mission has led the establishment of an additional congreation, Messy Church which meets in St Saviour's Church hall. Together we support almost all of the primary schools in our area, indiscriminate of whether they are a CofE school or otherwise. We conducting weekly assemblies in each of them. We are part of the Yate and Fromeside Mission Area and the ecumenical group, Together4Fromeside, learning from each other, responding to local opportunities and needs as they arise.
